Rabbit Hole

I sometimes wish I was Alice
Falling down the rabbit hole
Lost in the world of make believe
Where nothing is ever what it seems

I would love to chase the rabbit
Through every nook and cranny
Dining with the madhatter
Banter with the caterpillar

To laugh with the Cheshire cat
Only dumbness from the tweelde twins
Thy only enemy the Queen of Hearts
Greatest fear being times end

What I would do to be anywhere
Somewhere other than here
Stuck in the sands of reality
Whipped by the tides of time

Heartaches and tears
Promises broken
Wishing again for the wonder years
Chances to do it all over again

Finding my own little key
With the little door to my dreams
Potions making everything right
Crumpets in the twilight

Instead always wishing and pleading
Looking for my heart’s desires
Praying to a man unseen
Just waiting for him to answer me

A heart that is full
Not endlessly searching
Finding the way of the wind
My own little shroom in the woods

To finally find my land of peace
Where everything is what it seems
How it was truly meant to be
Deep within the belonging

What I’d do to be Alice
Mingling with the hatter and hare
Deep within the world of make believe
Finding a place meant for me
