Light Becomes Dark

 

There is a time in our lives

A right of passage

A necessity for learning

Where light goes to dark

We rise up hill

Feeling good

Feeling confident

Living life to the fullest

Having no doubt

Then the day turns to night

And time slips away

We feel ourselves falling

Twisting and turning

We struggle to find ground

We struggle to find self

With no avail it all goes dark

We can take this for what it is

A moment in time

Or we can let it swallow us

Becoming lost without light

It takes some time to realize

It's a necessity to live

Sinking only to drown

Drown within the depth

Only to find our desire to survive

Truly only drowning in the need to fight

It is the darkness that gives us light

A fire of determination

It is only in the dark that we find our ground

The wings that were meant to fly

When we can find our way through the dark

We find our way to the day

Another moment in time

Another trial to endure

One is hope

One is growth

Both are momentous

It is a right of passage

The time of our lives

Where we find our true strength

When day turns to night

And for a moment everything goes dark
